8-Hour Kidz Famine Camp 2012

8-Hour Famine Camp is for kids from 4 to 12 year old. And I was one of the volunteer in the camp. I have so much fun helping and playing with them. I've chosen to be a team leader, that's mean I have lead a team of kid and help them go through the hunger challenges. ( And kindda being their babysitter...>.< ) It's my first time be a leader, it's hard but luckily my kids are all cute, clever and well-behaved.( Ahhh...Felt kind of relive...) There's suppose to be 10 kids in my team, but two of them were absent. BTW my team won the 2nd place in the Most United Team Award. Wohoo !

Hunger Challenges not Huger Games XD

Yeah, you read it, it's the hunger challenges. From my last post you know about the 30-Hour Famine Camp I've attended. Its 2days camp, so to keep us from the bored, in the same time learn something, they had 'created' a hunger challenge! All together they got 4 challenges, each and everyone of them are extremely fun and excited. And it's different every year. It's also the most unique point of our 30-Hour Famine Camp, 'cause we are the only camp  that have it.

  The theme of the hunger challenges is to let us experience and understand about the poor, the hunger. But in a fun way, check the video of this year 30-Hour Famine camp.

World Vision 30 Hour Famine Volunteer Camp ! 2012

What is 30-Hour Famine ?
30-Hour Famine is a global event, the intention of absolute poverty in the fight against hunger and community.Participants will choose to fast or prohibited from engaging in a favorite activity for 30 hours, learning in the process of global issues, fundraising, and turn the hunger into hope.30-Hour Famine Fund is to assist children living in poverty and communities out of poverty.

My story :
It's my second year joining 30 Hour Famine, and it's better than last year 'cause this year I'm a volunteer. That's mean I'll be working or leading kids in the 8 Hour Famine ( for kids ). You have to know that being a volunteer is not easy, 'cause you'll be taking care or leading the kids in the 8 Hour Famine Camp, and it's my first time ! Pressure ! Last year as a normal camper, now as a volunteer, and it's only my second year ! Still, I'm glad I can help out. You'll never learn if you never try, right ?

  Anyway, back to this year's camp. It started for yesterday noon to 6pm today. (7/7-8/7) From that you'll know I just got back for it, I just had my dinner, it's the best feeling I had in 2 days ! Because we're not allow to have solid food, only drinks are allow. All together they've prepared some mineral water for us and 3 bottles of soya milk for each and everyone.They served the first bottle at night yesterday ( the first day ), 2 more for today (the second day ), morning and after 6pm. And that's all we have for 2 days. If this already sound hungry to you, try to think about the people, and the children from a poor country or family. They suffer not only just for 30 hours, their whole life were suffering from hunger, pain, illness.... That's what we learned about in this camp, we learned and understand the meaning of hunger and what will it bring to people and how to defeat it. And this year's theme is 'The global hunger crisis'
